Fans in China can now enjoy the magic of the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts series, as well as other eBooks from the Wizarding World™ on the popular platform. 

On 22nd February 2023, Pottermore Publishing launched its titles on Dedao, an innovative eBook platform in China fronted by the popular Luo Zhenyu (Teacher Luo). To mark the occasion, Dedao featured the Harry Potter 1-7 eBook collection on their website and social media accounts, alongside a fantastic short-form video presented by Teacher Luo himself as part of their social reading feature.

It was clear that fans were delighted to see the Wizarding World titles available on the platform. Dedao reported that on launch day, one out of every six eBook users were accessing Pottermore’s titles and that within one week of the launch, over 28,000 readers had accessed a story from our catalogue.

Providing their users with the perfect opportunity to dive back into the stories, or discover them for the very first time, Dedao hosted a Harry Potter 100 Days Reading Challenge on the platform, which attracted more than 12,000 participants within just seven days!

This successful launch continues Pottermore Publishing’s presence in China, and we are excited to watch our collaboration with Dedao develop further.
