The Tales of Beedle the Bard audiobook hits Number One

10th March 2020

The new digital audiobook hit the number one spots in the UK and US Audible charts a whole month before publication.

On 26 February we announced the upcoming release of The Tales of Beedle the Bard in digital audiobook through Audible and the Pottermore Shop.

The Tales of Beedle the Bard was first referenced in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows as the fictional selection of fairy tales that wizarding children grew up with. This book was originally written in 2007 by J.K. Rowling and has raised money for her children’s charity Lumos ever since, as does the new audiobook. You can read all about it here.

The news got a huge reaction and we’re delighted to say that Beedle the Bard rose to the much-coveted number one spots in the US, UK and Canada in the Audible charts on the strength of pre-orders alone.

Its array of Wizarding World narration talent also made it the highest new entry in Amazon’s Most-Sold: Fiction chart. The eBooks of Harry Potter 1-7 continue to occupy 7 of the top 8 spots in Amazon’s most-read chart.

We can’t wait to share the audiobook with you when it is released on 31 March!
