Pull up a chair, warm up by the fire: Pottermore Publishing invites you to settle into the sounds of the Gryffindor common room with a brand-new audio experience
Harry Potter Audioscapes are a new ambient listening experience designed to immerse listeners in the wizarding world. Combining narration from the Harry Potter stories with richly layered sound design and bespoke music featuring a live ensemble, each Audioscape creates an immersive world through sound, inviting listeners to slow down, unwind and experience Hogwarts in a new way. We’re proud to announce the first instalment in the series, Moments at Hogwarts: The Gryffindor Common Room will publish on the 17th November 2026 through our global retail network.
A familiar refuge for Harry, Ron and Hermione throughout the stories, the Gryffindor common room is one of Hogwarts’ most comforting spaces. With its squashy armchairs and crackling fire, it provides a natural setting for the first Audioscape, inviting listeners to pull up a chair, sink in and feel as though they’re settling into the wizarding world.
Pottermore Publishing has collaborated with sound design specialists Granny Eats Wolf to create Audioscapes. Every aspect of the production has been designed to promote relaxation of the highest quality. The musical soundtrack was recorded by an ensemble of live musicians. Additionally, the team used ASMR techniques to record the narration and incorporated carefully designed frequencies, including subtle 6-Hz theta and alpha binaural beat layers to create a calm, immersive listening experience. Using expertly crafted Foley, each sound – from distant thunder through to gentle crackling fires - has been carefully designed to bring the richly detailed atmosphere of the wizarding world to life. Moments at Hogwarts: The Gryffindor Common Room will be the first location fans can explore, with the Hogwarts classrooms and grounds coming in 2027. We’re delighted to bring Audioscapes to the world of Harry Potter and can’t wait for listeners to pull up a chair and sink into magic on the 17th November 2026.
