Pottermore Publishing releases the digital editions of Luna Lovegood and Professor Dumbledore Pocket Potters.
On the 24th February we, along with Bloomsbury and Scholastic, released two additional characters in the Pocket Potters series: Luna Lovegood and Professor Dumbledore. These unique titles are the perfect companions to the Harry Potter™ series, inviting young readers to explore the wizarding world and learn all about their favourite characters, from Luna’s funky accessories to Dumbledore’s favourite flavour of jam. Luna and Dumbledore now join the beloved Golden Trio – Harry, Ron and Hermione – who kicked the Pocket Potters series off in August 2025.
Each book has been brought to life with intricate illustrations that capture the magic of the wizarding world and its characters. The new Dumbledore title has been illustrated by Paola Escobar, a self-described ‘proud Hufflepuff’, while the Luna book has been illustrated by Helen Brady, who says she’s ‘probably a Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff, but would let the Sorting Hat decide’. Both artists have perfectly captured the whimsical and whacky personalities of their characters. Helen, for example, has flawlessly brought out the chaos and quirkiness of the Lovegood house, and Paola has shown the rich detail and eclectic charm of Dumbledore’s office.
As with the Harry, Ron, and Hermione books, our goal was to make these versions accessible to as many fans as possible. To achieve this, and to ensure full compliance with the latest European Accessibility Act (EAA), we worked with Circular Software and textBOX. Together we created alt-text for every image in the books so that screen readers can describe the illustrations. We also implemented guided page navigation to support a smooth reading journey. Though this task took a lot of time and care from both our production team and the teams at Circular Software and textBOX, the results have been incredibly rewarding as accessibility is a core priority across all our titles.
These books are a joy to journey through; packed with fascinating facts and enchanting illustrations, they are truly captivating titles for any young would-be witches and wizards. And the magic doesn’t stop here; readers can look forward to the arrival of Hagrid and Dobby Pocket Potters, coming later this year. The pre-order for these two fan-favourite characters is now live!
