Harry Potter’s first Christmas at Hogwarts coming to libraries in time for the holidays.
From 13 October 2026, fans can experience Harry’s first Christmas at Hogwarts through an immersive iconographic eBook, available via Hoopla at participating public libraries across the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Combining Sam Stafford’s narration with Ziyi Gao’s charming illustrations, the dynamic digital edition brings the story to life through pan-and-scan movement, visual storytelling and warm narration.
The story journeys through the snow-covered Hogwarts grounds, the seasonally adorned Great Hall and the cosy, fire-lit Gryffindor common room, inviting young readers and Harry Potter fans of all ages to wrap themselves in the magic of the festive season.
The release builds on the popularity of Harry Potter™ on Hoopla, where Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone ranked as the fifth most popular eBook and audiobook among users in 2025. Christmas at Hogwarts builds on that interest by offering readers and families a distinctive new way to experience a much-loved moment from the story.
Readers can immerse themselves in the wonder of Christmas at Hogwarts immediately, in participating Hoopla libraries, with no waits or holds required. “We’re very happy to offer library patrons of all ages access to Christmas at Hogwarts ahead of the holiday season,” says Jennie McCann, Managing Director of Pottermore Publishing. “Libraries play such an important role in fostering a love of reading, and we’re excited to work with Hoopla to bring this iconographic edition to readers and families. We particularly hope it creates opportunities for younger audiences to discover the magic of Harry Potter’s first Christmas at Hogwarts,” McCann added.
As libraries look for new ways to engage readers, Christmas at Hogwarts pairs a much-loved wizarding world moment with immersive digital storytelling, offering readers and families a new way to experience the warmth and wonder of Harry’s first Christmas at Hogwarts.
