We are thrilled to be adding another set of talented actors to the already powerful ensemble, ready to lend their voices to fan-favourite characters.
With the release of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone in sight, we are as excited as ever to announce even more talent to the Audible-exclusive, full-cast audio editions. Professors Slughorn and Trelawney will be played by Bill Nighy and Saoirse-Monica Jackson; David Holmes as Stan Shunpike, Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù as Sirius Black; Anna Maxwell Martin as Rita Skeeter; Mackenzie Crook as Kreacher; Stephen Mangan as Nearly Headless Nick, and Tracy-Ann Oberman as Madam Hooch.
But that’s not all! Also being announced today are the fresh new faces playing some of Hogwarts’ most infamous students. Nemesis of Harry Potter, Draco Malfoy will be played by Jude Farrant in the first 3 audiobooks, with Maximus Evans taking over the role from book 4 onwards. Forgetful Gryffindor, Neville Longbottom, will be played by Jake Sigsworth in audiobooks 1-3, and Archie Mountain in audiobooks 4-7. Lastly, the quirky but kind Luna Lovegood will be played by Millie Gubby.

Making his return to the wizarding world, Bill Nighy – who played Rufus Scrimgeour in the films – has said: “I was pleased to be asked to play the Professor after having already played a Minister for Magic. Is it possible that I’m the only actor who can claim that achievement? It means that my career continues to have meaning for the next couple of generations. I’m always grateful when asked to play academics having not been further educated myself. I’m hoping to be a significant part of something that will keep children entertained in the car on those long journeys overseas or just on the way to school.”
David Holmes, another wizarding world alum after being a lead stunt double in the films has said: “I’m beyond thrilled and honoured to be voicing Stan Shunpike in the forthcoming Pottermore and Audible Harry Potter full-cast audiobook. Being a part of this is very much full circle for me, considering I was the Harry stunt double inside the Knight Bus as it was whizzing through the streets of London on the Harry Potter Prisoner of Azkaban movie. I hope everybody enjoys my performance and both old or new audiences will connect with these magical stories. Tickets please….”
Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone will debut on Audible on 4th November, with The Chamber of Secrets following a month later, releasing on 16th December. The rest of the titles will continue to premier monthly thereafter. We can’t wait to hear our favourite scenes, brought to life by these incredible voices. Mark your calendars… the countdown starts now!
