Twice a year, in the Easter and Summer holidays, we join forces with our colleagues at The Blair Partnership to offer Experience Works, a pioneering work experience programme that puts students in the job for a week.

At Pottermore we value the diverse backgrounds, experiences and assortment of perspectives that different people can bring to our business. This might be through the casting we do for our narrators, the partners we work with in a huge variety of capacities, or through something like our internship opportunities.
For the Full-Cast Editions we have partnered with MAMA Youth to run a programme of 6 month paid internships. The MAMA Youth project recruits, trains and nurtures young people between 18-30 years of age from under-represented groups or with limited educational or employment opportunities. Through practical, production training projects, they equip people with the skills and experience necessary to secure long-term and fulfilling employment in the TV and media industry.
In 2024, Maria Lajuwomi joined us as our first intern from this collaboration. She worked across pre-production for the full-cast audiobooks on a variety of tasks including script creation, casting research and production planning. This work helped her secure a permanent role at Fresh Audio as a sound trainee, working on shows such as Married at First Sight.
Maria shared her experience: ‘I’ve genuinely enjoyed my time as an intern, feeling welcomed not only by my immediate team but the wider Pottermore team! I came into this position with no prior experience in a corporate job, feeling quite nervous and apprehensive about my capacity to complete the tasks at hand. However, aided by the support of my team I’ve been able to achieve things and develop skills I would not have otherwise! It’s been amazing to delve into the enchanting wizarding world of Harry Potter.’
Two further interns from MAMA Youth joined us as a double cohort in January 2025 and they have been getting to grips with scripts, creating room plans and shadowing in the recording studio.
This programme, and other internships, are an ongoing commitment to representation within Pottermore and we look forward to welcoming many more new team members in the coming years.
